Capacity Slots.
Create and manage time slots with limited capacity. Party sizes, remaining seats, and overbooking prevention.
What Is a Capacity Slot?
A capacity slot is a time window with a maximum number of seats or spots. A restaurant dinner seating at 19:00 with 20 tables. A yoga class at 10:00 with 15 spots. A guided tour at 14:00 with 12 participants.
Each slot has:
- Time - When the slot starts (e.g., 19:00)
- Day of week - Which days this slot is active
- Maximum capacity - Total seats/spots available
- Label - Optional display name ("Dinner Service", "Morning Class")
Creating Capacity Slots
From the business dashboard, go to Capacity Slots → New Slot.
Slots recur weekly on the selected days. A restaurant with dinner at 19:00 and 21:00, Monday through Saturday, creates two slots with six days each.
How Remaining Capacity Works
When each booking comes in, the party size is subtracted from the maximum capacity. The booking page shows remaining spots in real time:
- 20 max, 4 booked → "16 spots remaining"
- 20 max, 18 booked → "2 spots remaining"
- 20 max, 20 booked → slot no longer shown
Party Size
Customers specify their party size during booking. The system checks that the requested party size doesn't exceed remaining capacity before confirming.
A party of 6 trying to book a slot with 4 remaining spots will see a message suggesting alternative times.
